What People Say About Us
Peri is awesome. He is extremely responsive and did an excellent job on our bathroom renovation. I recommend going with him and I will be using him for all our plumbing needs in the future.
The service was great. I called Peri from Proto Home Service Plumbing for a clogged kitchen sink. After inspecting some pipe connectors/drainage, he realized that some connections were wrong. He took the time to explain everything in detail that needed to be changed. I followed his recommendations and I'm very happy with the results. Peri is very professional with many years of experience. Highly recommend!!
Peri was amazing! He was super informative and gave me an estimate right off the bat. The service was fast and the price was very reasonable. I will definitely be using Proto Home Service again!
Clean, professional work. They were quick to respond and took the time to explain the new tank’s operation. We had an oil hot water tank replaced (which most plumbers can't/won't do). Great work. Thank you.
I recently had Peri from Proto Home Service Plumbing handle all the plumbing work for my bathroom renovation, and I couldn't be more impressed! He installed a brand new walk-in shower, infinity drain, toilet, and faucet with absolute precision and care. What stood out most was the excellent quality of his work combined with his professional attitude and very reasonable rates. Throughout the entire project, Peri demonstrated exceptional skill and attention to detail...
Our water heater gave out unexpectedly. Peri and his team were there in less than 18 hours to replace it. He is very responsive and he will always be my first call when anything plumbing or heating needs attention.
These guys are AMAZING. If you’re looking for someone who is both knowledgeable and super-responsive, these are your guys. They have dealt with some super janky plumbing for me in a couple of old buildings and they did a phenomenal job. Trustworthy and reasonably priced. Hard combination to beat.

Choose Proto Home Service for HVAC & Plumbing Services in Walpole, MA
East Walpole still carries the name of the Bird family, whose paper mill along the Neponset River shaped the neighborhood for generations and left behind Francis William Bird Park — an 89-acre landscape the family donated to the town in 1925. Proto Home Service has worked on homes across Walpole, from that mill-era village to Walpole Center and South Walpole, for more than 40 years.
Every visit follows the same approach regardless of the system — furnace, boiler, AC, heat pump, plumbing, or water heater. We look at what’s there, explain it honestly, and only then talk about the options.
Call (617) 842-9104 to schedule service for your Walpole home, or reach us any time for a heating, cooling, plumbing, or water heater emergency — we’re available 24/7.

HVAC Service That Keeps Walpole Homes Running Smoothly
Walpole’s housing stock runs from mill-era homes near East Walpole to newer construction throughout the rest of town, and the HVAC systems inside vary just as much. Proto Home Service works on furnaces, boilers, central air conditioners, and heat pumps across all of it.
Whether it’s a scheduled tune-up or something that just quit working, we treat the diagnosis the same way — look first, explain what we find, then talk about what’s next.
No heat isn’t something that should sit and wait. 24/7 emergency heating service is available in Walpole.

Furnace Repair & Replacement for Walpole Homes
A furnace generally hints at trouble before it fails completely — a longer cycle, a new noise, heat that lags behind the thermostat. We work on gas and oil-fired systems alike, and our active Massachusetts Oil Burner license covers the older equipment still common in Walpole’s early-1900s housing.
• Furnace Repair & Maintenance
• Furnace Installation & Replacement
When repair still makes sense, that’s the recommendation — our post on furnace troubleshooting covers what’s worth flagging. When it doesn’t, we size a replacement to the house rather than defaulting to whatever’s easiest.
Our HVAC Plan Membership ($44/month or $479/year) covers seasonal maintenance and priority scheduling.
— Efficient, Even Warmth —
Boiler Service for Dependable Heat in Walpole
Plenty of homes in and around Walpole Center were built with hydronic heat rather than forced air, and a radiator system can run for decades before showing real trouble — pressure that won’t hold, uneven heat, a new sound from the mechanical room. The same Oil Burner license that covers our furnace work applies to boilers, oil or gas.
• Boiler Repair & Maintenance
• Boiler Installation & Replacement
Hydronic systems from that era still turn up regularly on our service calls, right alongside equipment installed much more recently. When a boiler’s reached the end, we size the replacement to the home instead of the catalog.

Air Conditioning Repair & Service in Walpole
A lot of Walpole’s older homes were never built with ductwork, so cooling setups vary from retrofitted central air to ductless systems to window units. We’re EPA-registered for refrigerant handling, which any repair or replacement touching refrigerant requires, regardless of the setup.
• Air Conditioning Repair
• Air Conditioning Maintenance
• Air Conditioning Installation & Replacement
We check the equipment first and explain what we find before talking replacement — our annual cooling service post covers what that actually catches.
A dead AC in the middle of a heat wave doesn’t get put on a waitlist — 24/7 emergency cooling service is available in Walpole whenever that happens.
— Heating + Cooling in One —
Heat Pump Service for Year-Round Comfort in Walpole
Because a heat pump handles both heating and cooling, it ends up doing more work across the year than either system alone — which is part of why it’s a common choice for additions, finished basements, and older Walpole homes without existing ductwork. We install and service both ducted and ductless heat pump systems throughout town.
• Heat Pump Repair
• Heat Pump Maintenance
• Heat Pump Installation & Replacement
Walpole is served by Eversource, so the standard Mass Save incentives apply here, and we’re a recognized Mass Save Heat Pump Installer — worth bringing up when pricing out an installation.
If you’re weighing a heat pump for the first time, we start with the home’s actual heating and cooling needs and whatever setup is already in place.

Plumbing Service for Problems Big & Small in Walpole
Walpole draws its water entirely from its own wells rather than the MWRA system — seven producing wells that have served the town since 1895. The town is now in the process of applying to connect to MWRA as a backup source, largely because the local aquifer has been under real strain in recent years. None of that changes how we approach a plumbing call, but it’s part of the picture when pressure or supply questions come up.

Water Heater Repair, Replacement & Installation in Walpole
A water heater rarely fails outright without some warning — a shorter supply of hot water than you remember, a longer wait between uses. We check the equipment itself, tank or tankless, before recommending anything.
• Water Heater Repair
• Water Heater Maintenance

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Have questions about our Plumbing & HVAC services? We’ve answered the most common ones below to help you feel confident before you book.
All of Walpole, including East Walpole, South Walpole, and Walpole Center.
Not yet — Walpole runs on its own local wells, seven of them, and has since 1895. The town is currently applying to connect to MWRA as a backup source, but that project is still in progress.
Not for us. East Walpole grew up around the Bird family’s paper mill in the 1800s, and homes from that period often still have original pipe, older boilers, and wiring that predates modern HVAC standards. We handle that regularly alongside newer construction.
Usually, especially if you call early in the day — the schedule fills up as the day goes on.
Always. A no-heat call or a burst pipe doesn’t wait for business hours, and we don’t either.
Yes. Our Massachusetts Oil Burner license covers oil-fired furnaces and boilers, on top of our standard gas and plumbing work.
It comes down to the equipment’s age, repair history, and running cost. We’ll walk through the actual numbers with you instead of assuming replacement is the answer.
We do — tank and tankless both, and we’re a certified Navien Service Specialist for anyone considering the switch.
